Hi, I will stay in a hotel nearby Hakata station for 3 days, 2 nights,
First day arriving at noon and will be planning to goto Tosu premium outlet.
Second day to Kumamoto for a one day visit.
Third day shop around Hakata station and maybe Tinjen area before leaving at the evening time.

If that is the plan, should I buy a JR Kyushu Rail Pass (Fukuoka Wide) which cover my trip to Tonsu on the first day and part of the trip to Omuta/ Kurume to exchange JR to Kumamoto (need to pay). OR

I should actually get a 3 days Norhern Kyushu area pass (although I will be using that for 2 days only)

Which one will be cheaper?
Thanks!

Hi there,

It would depend on how you want to travel to Kumamoto, the Northern Kyushu area pass is the better option if you wish to use the Shinkansen. You should also be able to use it to Shin-Tosu, so you'd be saving time and money.

Kind regards,
Daniel
