Hi!

We are a family of four with 2 kids (9 and 11) travelling to Japan for the first time. We are planning to base ourselves in Tokyo and Osaka. Can you please let us know the best way to get around Japan and if our itinerary is doable? Our 9 year old daughter loves anything "kawaii" and our 11 year old loves gaming and all things Pokemon. We love all LOVE food haha. Thank you in advance for all your help.

27th of March: Arrive at Haneda Airport, Tokyo. Staying in Asakusa. Explore Tokyo (Pokemon Cafe and store)
28th of March: Tokyo Disneyland
29th of March: Tokyo DisneySea
30th of March: Teamlabs, Tsukiji

31st of March: Travel from Tokyo to Osaka. Staying in Shinsaibashi East. Stopping at Hakone for day trip
1st of April: Explore Osaka (Aquarium, Dontonburi)
2nd of April: Osaka (Universal Studio)
3rd of April: Osaka to Miyajima Island
4th of April: Osaka to Kyoto
5th of April: Osaka to Nara
6th of April: Osaka to Kobe and Teamlabs Osaka (if have time)
7th of April: Travel back to Tokyo. Explore Tokyo
8th of April: Depart from Haneda Airport to Brisbane.

Hi there,

I love everything Kawaii & Gaming too haha ^^ - Japan will be a very good choice to visit.

When it comes to travel, your best option would be a 7-day Japan Rail Pass but with a minor change to your plans. You'd have to return to Tokyo on the 6th of April. As the best use of the pass would be for your long distance trips, Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Tokyo. You could take a late train back, which would still give you most of the day to enjoy Kobe, and it's easy to put your luggage in a coin locker. The trip itself looks great fun to me, with a lot of day trips.

Kind regards,
Daniel
