Hi there,

I'm going to Japan arriving 9th of January. All flights are booked.

At the moment, my itinerary is
D1 Tokyo
D2 Nagano - Snow Monkey - overnight Shibu Onsen
D3 Shinhotaka Ropeway - overnight Hirayu Onsen
D4 Takayama
D5 Matsumoto
D6 Mt Fuji
D7 Tokyo via Yokohama
D8 Tokyo - Airport at night

But now I think it's better to go straight to Nagano from Narita. And have all my Tokyo at the end.

The hardest thing is the transport. Is this arrangement alright?

Like Matsumoto it's 30 minutes away from Nagano. But then the trip from Takayama to Mt Fuji takes forever

Please help my itinerary

Thank you

Hello there,

Overall I think the route looks fine. There are some parts that require longer stretches of travel such as travel from Takayama to Matsumoto and possible to Fuji. At the same time, these are very scenic train rides and you'll be traveling in comfort.

Do you know where around Fuji you wish to travel? FujiKawaguchiko can be reached from Matsumoto with one transfer at Otsuki station.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

thank you for Reply

for Fuji I need to arrive to Kawaguchiko Station, the main purpose is to stay at Ubuya Kozantei Ryokan.

After going through my itinerary. I actually turn it around.

D1 Tokyo
D2 Takayama
D3 Shinhotaka Ropeway - overnight Hirayu Onsen
D4 Nagano - Snow Monkey - overnight Shibu Onsen/Matsumoto
D5 Matsumoto Castle in the Morning - Kawaguchiko Ryokan
D6 Tokyo via Yokohama
D7 Tokyo
D8 Tokyo - Airport at night

Do you think this is better?
