Hi,

I have planned the below itinerary for Central Japan and will need you advise on the JR Pass that we should purchase. This is the plan for now.

Day 1: Nagoya - nakatsugawa - Magome-Juku - Tsumago-juku - Nagiso - Nojiri
Day 2: Nojiri - Yabuhara - Narai
Day 3: Narai - Matsumoto
Day 4: Matsumoto - Nagano - snow monkey (Yamanouchi) - Nagano
Day 5: Nagano - Kanazawa
Day 6: Kanazawa - Shirakawago
Day 7: Shirakawago - takayama
Day 8: Takayama - Nagoya

Appreciate your advise on this! :)

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary would the best option but could not find a pass that would match your itinerary and help you make savings. My advise would be to just buy normal rail tickets for this trip. A JR Pass would cover all the rail travel but is slightly higher prices than normal tickets for this route.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel-san,

Thanks for your prompt response. Do you think it will make sense for us to get the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Pass for Days 5-8?

Regards,
Merry

Hi Merry,

No, as it would not cover travel from Nagano to begin with. From there you would not do enough travel to make savings with the pass.
