Hi,

Large family (6A 5c) travelling March 31 - April 15. Just wondering if it is better to get the rail pass - if so which one? or get separate tickets please??

Proposed itinerary is
* Narita - Osaka via Nagano snow monkeys. day trios from Osaka to Kyoto, Nara, Hijemi return to Tokyo via Mt Fuji.

Or is it better to do Mt Fuji as a day trip from Tokyo? Will there be somewhere at the station we can leave our luggage??

Thank you so much for your help, I was thinking the Golden arch pass but then this wouldn't cover Mt Fuji on the way back but perhaps it's better to do as a day trip??

Hi there,

With your current itinerary it's likely you'll save money purchasing tickets individually. If you make any adjustments, you can check our JR Fare Calculator.

Fuji is a nice day trip from Tokyo if you just want to go and see it, but if you're planning on seeing the area or doing other activities nearby spending the night is definitely an option. The choice is yours, there are also coin lockers that can store your luggage for up to 72 hours, so your luggage won't get in the way.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
