best and most cost effective ways to travel

Hi All - looking for best and most cost effective way to travel this current Itinerary for my trip later this year. Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated and encouraged, thank you in advance.

  1. fly into: Tokyo

  2. Travel to Mt. Fuji

  3. Travel to Kyoto

  4. Travel to Osaka

  5. Travel to Tottori

  6. Travel back to Tokyo

  7. Flight out from Tokyo

I'm Uncertain of the length of stay at each destination but I'd like a minimum of 3 weeks total trip. I'm wondering specifically what rail pass is the best and what are the easiest/most cost effective ways to travel this route.

Hi there,

It's hard to say without knowing your day by day travel but see if you can fit travel to Kyoto - Osaka - Tottori - Tokyo in a 14-day period and then you could use a 14-day JR Pass :)

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
