Hello!

It’s my first time to japan in November and I would to ask if JR pass is necessary for my itinerary.

Day1: Osaka / Kansai airport
Day2: Osaka
Day3: Osaka / Day trip to Kyoto
Day4: Osaka/ Day trip to Kyoto
Day5: Osaka/ Day trip to Nara
Day6: Osaka
Day7: Tokyo
Day8: Tokyo
Day9: Tokyo
Day10: Narita airport

Basically I will do multiple day trips from Osaka to Kyoto and Nara, and single Shinkansen to Tokyo. I’m not so sure if JR pass is required for my itinerary.

Appreciate the help here! Many thanks!

Hi there,

I recommend just buying normal tickets for your trip. A Japan Rail Pass would be a really good option if you made a return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka but you will be going one way with local travel around the Kansai Area.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
