Hi,

I’m trying to decide whether purchasing 7 day JR pass will be worth it for our upcoming trip in Nov.
We will spend 7 nights in Kansai and 7 nights in Tokyo but I’m only planning to buy 7 day JR Pass and use Suica/Pasmo card for the rest of the trips

This is my tentative planned itinerary, we’ll only use JR Pass for 7 days between 13 Nov-19 Nov
I have worked out using JR calculator that I’m on the edge of making is cost-effective to purchase the 7-day JR Pass, however I’m unsure whether there are alternative travel options which will be cheaper for us rather than using the JR Pass for these trips

10-12 Nov: Osaka
13 Nov : Osaka-Kyoto-Nara
14 Nov : Osaka-Kyoto
15 Nov : Osaka-Miyajima-Hiroshima
16 Nov : Osaka-Kobe
17 Nov : Osaka-Tokyo
18 Nov : Tokyo-Yokohama
19 Nov : Tokyo-Hakone (Mt Fuji)
20-24 Nov : Tokyo

I could use some advice on this.
Thank you in advance for your help !

Hi there,

The 7 day JR Pass will actually give you pretty good savings when used from Osaka - Miyajima/Hiroshima - Osaka and to Tokyo. There is no other pass that covers this route, so the choice is an easy one :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel
