Hello
I will be in Japan for 20 days and i am a little confused about my itinerary.
I would like to do around 6 days in Tokyo, 4-5 in Osaka, 4-5 in Kyoto, 2 in Hakone, 2 in Takayama/Kanazawa, 2 to Hiroshima/Miyajima and a day trip to Nara.
I originally had it planned
29th-3rd Tokyo
3rd-4th Takayama/kanazawa
4th-9th Osaka
9th-10th Hiroshima/Miyajima
10th-11th Hakone
11th-16th Kyoto
16th-17th Tokyo

I am unsure about what would be the best way to plan it to maximise my JR pass. Also if it would be better to use night buses or just train it.

Hi there,

A JR Pass would very well here, it covers travel between all the cities you will visit and will make good savings at the same time. So you're already maximizing the use of the JR Pass.

To further get good use out of the rail pass, look into how you can use it locally. Think of using the Ferry to Miyajima, Free city bus in Hiroshima or the Tokyo and Osaka JR Networks.

Was there a part where you wanted to know more about?
