Hi ,
My husband and I are traveling to Japan for 2 weeks. Here is our itinerary and we are wondering if the 14-days JR Pass would make sense:
Haneda Airport > Tokyo (May 19)
Tokyo > Takayama (May 23)
Takayama > Kyoto (May 26)
Kyoto > Osaka (Kansai Intl Airport) (May 29)
[Okinawa for 3 days]
Haneda Airport > Tokyo (June 1)
Tokyo > Narita Airport (June 2)
Locally within Tokyo, the closest JR station to our Hotel is Kanda Station. Some of the local commute that we are anticipating are:
Kanda > Shinjuku
Shinjuku > Shibuya
Shibuya > Kanda
Kanda > Shimbashi
We are looking at using JR trains for the local Tokyo coomute as much as possible as well.
Within Kyoto, we will be traveling to Uji. The nearest station to our hotel is Omiya Station. Seems like the fastest train would be via
Kyoto Station > Uji Station (via the JR Nara line)
From Kyoto, we will need to get into Kansai Intl. Airport, so we will be taking
Kyoto Station > Osaka (KIX)
Our last leg of of 2 weeks trip is the last night in Tokyo. We fly into Haneda from Okinawa.
Haneda > Tokyo
Tokyo > Narita
Based on the itinerary above, would it be worth it getting the JR Pass. The first day of activation will be on May 19 and the last trip would be on June 2.
Thanks in advance!!
