I arrive in Narita tokyo on sunday 16 june early and leave sunday 30th in the morning.
i have a few questions:
1) does a 14 day pass work from sunday to sunday, or only to saturday?
2) is it 14 days from the first day you use it?
3) we are spending a few days in tokyo and then go to Hiroshima , Kyoto, and still dont know where else. How many hours does it take to Hiroshima from Tokyo? Where can we see the time table of the trains around where we want to go?
thank you for your help
Diana
14 days pass
Hi Diana,
1.) Everyday is counted as a full day, that means activating the JR Pass on a Sunday, means the last day is the following Saturday.
2.) When you activate the JR Pass in Japan, you can select a first day of use. Your JR Pass will start then.
3.) It takes about 6 hours to travel from Tokyo - Hiroshima. Using the JR Pass. For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
Kind regards,
Daniel

if we spend 4 days in tokyo, arriving sunday early morning, then to hiroshima for 4 more days, then kyoto for 3-4 days, and back to tokyo through some other cities, is it cheaper to get the jrpass?
do you suggest where else to go on our way back to tokyo?
can we get to nikko on jrpass? is it a one day trip or better staying?
is it worth staying around mt fuji for a couple of days? now at end of june?
do i have to wait for the jrpass to arrive at my house before reserving trip from tokyo to hiroshima? does one buy or reserve the ticket by internet? on what page? Hyperdia? or is that only to get itineraries?
sorry for so many questions!!
thanks for your help
