You will be travelling a good lot, especially Hakata - Beppu is a long ride when using railway travel. I think using a 3-day or 5-day JR Nortern Kyushu Pass.

Hi,

From above itinerary, I have deleted trip to Wisteria GArden. That leaves another night in Beppu. Is staying 3 nights in Beppu worth it? Or are there other areas near Beppu worth visiting that is covered by JR pass?

I like onsens and autumn views.
