Hello everyone,

My fiancee and I will be traveling to Japan for 10 days 03/27-4/5/19. We are trying to decide between the 7 or 14 day pass. this is how our itinerary looks so far. Please give us some advice, tips or recommendations. It's both our first times in Japan.

(Day1) Arrive NRT 3:20 PM
spend the night in Tokyo (Nishi-Shinjuku)

(Day2-5) Osaka and surrounding areas: Kyoto, Kobe, etc.

(Day 5-10) Back to Tokyo (Daiba, Minato)
Tokyo and surround areas:
leave HND 9:45 AM

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

I recommend using a 7 day JR Pass from Day 1-Day 7. This would give you the best use out of the JR Pass and cover your expensive routes (travel to Kyoto and rest of Kansai).

Then while in Tokyo, you could simply buy normal tickets as local travel itself does not cost as much.

Kind regards,
Daniel
