Hi,

I would like get a Pocket WiFi for Japan but want to know if it is the best choice for me?

Are trains equipped with WiFi, or is it better to have my own.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Pocket WiFi in Japan is essential if you want to stay connected. Japan is a modern country but surprisingly, public WiFi hard to find. A personal WiFi hotspot takes care of all of this :) It comes with both unlimited data and high speeds, so watching Netflix, YouTube or any other stream service is no problem. Even if you don't care about that, it covers all the basics you would want. Think of using Google maps, messaging, checking time tables and so on.

Some trains are equipped with WiFi, like the Narita Express. Some trains have WiFi but it is paid, such as the Shinkansen between Tokyo and Nagoya on the Tokaido Shinkansen.

Please let me know if you have any questions :)
