Hi - we fly into Narita airport and spend 3 nights in Tokyo before heading to Sendai, on to Aomori, Sapporo, Lake Toya, Hakodate, Morioka and back to Tokyo for 2 nights, back to Narita. Total time in the Japan is 2 weeks. Is JRPass best or are we better of booking regional passes? Welcome Suica - is this still available? Thanks

Hi there,

Hokkaido is the most expensive area to access by rail and going to Sapporo and back, make it easy for me to recommend a rail pass. You could either do a 7-day or 14 day pass, depending on your timing,

The welcome Suica is still available, but personally I prefer the normal Suica card (as they remain reusable) or just add Suica to your Apple wallet.

Kind regards,
Daniel
