Hi Daniel San, my family would like to have holiday to Japan from 23 Nov to 6 Dec. We intend to start from Tokyo then Kyoto then Osaka then Hokkaido. If we purchase the JR Pass for 14days usage, can we travel from Tokyo to Hokkaido then Tokyo? Please advice on the itinerary. Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes, you can travel between all of these and use the Shinkansen as well. Including the high speed Shinkansen between Tokyo - Hokkaido (Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station).

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.

Hope this helps :)
Daniel
