Hi! Me and my girlfriend are traveling in Japan from 4. July - 24. July. We land in Osaka and start the first 4 days in Kyoto and have desided on having the last 5 days in Tokyo (flying home from tokyo). We will travel alot to different places in the time between with train (where railpass is perfect). The question i have is it worth getting the 21 days pass, or will we save money on having the 14 days pass? Side question: If i activated the 14 days pass on 5.july, does it still work the full day on 19. July?

Hi Joakim,

It is hard to say what JR Pass fits your itinerary best without knowing the full details.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary. I recommend using this option to plot your itinerary and see what would work best for you.

The last day of usage would be the 18th if you activate a 14 day JR Pass on the 5th.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
