Any recommendations on the different passes? I'd like to be mobile in the city where I am staying. I find all the different passes to be a bit overwhelming. Wondering if I should do some regional passes and buy my long haul tickets. Would appreciate any links for additional info. Thanks for any advice!
Hi there,
For this itinerary I would certainly recommend a 7 day JR Pass. Traveling the route from Tokyo - Kyoto and all the way down to Oita is quite a trip. The JR Pass is the only pass that covers this full route and you can make very good savings.
