I am afraid that there are no night services that would be practical here.

My advise would be so travel into Tokyo - stay there for the night - and travel on the following morning to Kyoto. However you could also still use late trains from 4 pm to travel to Kyoto if you really want to.

You can check the train schedule via www.hyperdia.com, just put in the date/time when you want to travel and remove the search options with Nozomi and private railways.
