Is JR Sanyo pass worth it?

We are a family of five that will be vacationing in Japan. This is our itinerary:
4 June. Arrive Kansai Airport. Go to Shin-Osaka.
5 - 7 June. Osaka. Visit aquarium, shop and visit Dotombori.
8 - 10 June. Hiroshima. Not sure if we will go to Miyajima.
11-16 June. Kyoto.
16 June. Kansai Airport.

We are looking at buying a 8 day JR Sanyo pass for 30,000 yen. According to the Hyperdia link it will cost us 27,310 yen.

Can we make up this difference (2,690 yen) by using the JR loop in Osaka?

Hi there!

I think it's unlikely that you will use the difference by using the Osaka JR loop, although it really does depend on how much you intend to travel within the city and if your destinations match up with the JR Station distribution.

Please note that the Sanyo Pass does not cover Kyoto or the surrounding area such as Nara, so you will need to purchase more tickets for this part of your trip.

If you let me know the days you plan on using the pass I'll be able to give you better advice here.
