Is JR Sanyo pass worth it?

I think it's unlikely that you will use the difference by using the Osaka JR loop, although it really does depend on how much you intend to travel within the city and if your destinations match up with the JR Station distribution.

Please note that the Sanyo Pass does not cover Kyoto or the surrounding area such as Nara, so you will need to purchase more tickets for this part of your trip.
