Hello, we will land in Takamatsu airport on Sep 30 and from there:
sep 30:Takamatsu- Osaka
Oct 1st: Osaka- Nara
Ooct 3rd: Nara- Tokyo
Oct 6th: Tokyo- Kyoto
Oct 9th: Kyoto- Takamatsu
Would you suggest a 14 day pass or better take a 7 day one, so that we are covered untill we get to Kyoto and for the last leg Kyoto-Takamatsu buy a single ticket?
The pass covers trains, buses and trams, right? no Metro?

Hi there,
I would advise the 7 day JR Pass for your itinerary and then buy a one way ticket Takamatsu - Osaka.
The exchange center in Takamatsu is open until between 10:00-18:00 and 10:00-17:00 in the weekend. If you arrive outside these times, just buy a ticket and use the JR Pass to return on the 9th of October.
The pass covers all JR trains, local JR buses and a couple of other transport methods such as the ferry between Hiroshima - Miyajima and Tokyo monorail. Other transport is not covered, such as the metro/tram etc.

thank you very much for your prompt reply.
You are suggesting to buy a Takamatsu-Osaka, cause it includes the ferry which is not cover by the JR pass?
Cause otherwise, if I am correct if we validate it on Sep 30th we could use it till Oct 6th inluded, right??
And then buy another ticket from Kyoto to Takamtsu.

The ferry is not covered but you can use the train to travel the entire route!
Also, yes the JR Pass could be used from Sep 30th - Oct 6th.
