Which route is better?

This is my first time traveling to japan and I would like to know if is necesary to get a 21 days jr pass or 15 days jr pass and also I don't know wich of these routes are better.

Tokyo > kanazawa > shirakawago > takayama > nagoya > kyoto

Tokyo >nagoya > takayama > shirakawago>kanazawa>kyoto

P.s I'mgoing on the cherry blossom season, should I get a green class? Thank you

Hi there,

I checked both routes but they both work well. I don't think there is any difference except for personal preference. Personally I would go with Tokyo > kanazawa > shirakawago > takayama > nagoya > kyoto as you can ride the newly opened Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kanazawa.

As for Green Class, it certainly is nice to travel Green Class. Still there are plenty of seats in ordinary class and you don't need to upgrade just for securing a seat. Green Class is best if you love to travel is comfort and quiet.

Think the rest of the route looks very good!

Thank you for your prompt reply. I surely going to stay with this route:
Tokyo > kanazawa > shirakawago > takayama > nagoya > kyoto

I still don't know if I need to get the jr for 15 days or 21? what do you recommed me?
