We are travelling with a group of four and our schedule is
4 June Tokio-6 June
6 June Tokio - Hakone
7 June Hakone - Kyoto - 9 June
9 June Kyoto-Nara-Osaka
10 June Osaka
11 June Osaka-Hiroshima
12 June Hiroshima - Miyajima
13 June Miyajima - Tokio
14 June Tokio - 17 June day trips

We consider travelling to Takayama from either Tokio or Kyoto
Would you recommend buying regional passes for Tokio, or buy 14 days JR pass?

Hi Maya,

You are traveling a lot around Japan, with that in mind a 7-day or 14 day JR Pass is worth considering, especially if you may be adding more travel, like Takayama.

Alternatively, you could look at buying normal tickets between the Kansai Region and Tokyo, and then use a Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass. This offers especially good value on a return between Kyoto/Osaka and Hiroshima.
