Hi there,

I checked your itinerary but find it hard to match a nation JR Pass to it. As it stands I would likely buy normal rail tickets due to the different transport methods around Fuji, that would not be included in any pass.

You can also look at a Kansai Hiroshima pass for travel to Hiroshima. Then use it to travel around the Kansai Area and between Osaka <-> Hiroshima.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel- san,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Will the below revised itinerary worth getting the 7 days JR pass if I activate it from 26/ 12?

Any suggestion for a day trip from Tokyo on NEW YEAR DAY that covers by JR pass?

25/12 Osaka-Universal studio

26/12 Osaka- Hiroshima

27/12 Osaka- Kobe/ Yokohama/Himeji

28/12 Osaka to Tokyo, then Mount Fuji- Visit Fuji Q Highland

29/12 Catch bus in Kawaguchiko station to Gotenba st and catch another bus to Kintoki shrine for a day trip and return at 6pm.

30/12 Mount Fuji- stay over night in Fuji Q Highland

31/12 Mount Fuji back to Tokyo

1/1 Any suggestion for a day trip from Tokyo on new day that cover by JR pass?

thanks in advance :)

Hi there,

Yes, a 7 day JR Pass would be well worth getting for this trip :)

New Years day will be a bit boring, most Japanese will visit a local temple or spend it with their family and not many small shops will be open. Big stores and warehouses will be open as usual and will be selling Fuku-Bukuro's (Lit. lucky bags). These are a bag with many items, often at a big discount. This can be anything from cosmetics to tech. It may be a good day to go shopping at a mall or department store and get some discounts. Alternatively you could go visit a temple and see how New Years day is celebrated in a more traditional sense.

If you want to take a break from the city life and get some good use out the of the JR Pass, make a visit to Nikko. There's a lot to see of historic value and the local temple complex is very impressive.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
