Ryokan in Kyoto and Japan

Hi there,

I do not have individual recommendations as there are just too many and we all have our own preferences, expectations and budget. However, have a look around the area's of Gion, Tawaramachi, Shijou, these are centrally located in Kyoto and will have a great experience.

There are not that many Ryokan in central Tokyo, have a look around Ueno, Nippori and Asakusa. You'll likely find some around there.
