Ordering with jrpass.com is quick and easy, follow some simple steps and within days you’ll receive your Exchange Order (XO). Once you reach Japan this XO is then turned in at a JR Ticket Office in return for your activated Japan Rail Pass.
Step 1: Check you eligibility
To be eligible for a Japan Rail Pass you must meet certain strict conditions. Foreign Passport holders must have the “Temparary Visitor” Visa. Japanese passport holders permanently residing abroad are eligible under certain conditions. Please check your eligibility to see whether you are allowed to use the Japan Rail Pass.
Step 2: Choose your Japan Rail Pass
Choose which type of Japan Rail Pass you need on our prices page. We offer Standard, Green and Child passes for 7, 14 or 21 days consecutive travel and prices can be displayed in £, US$ and €.
Step 3: Add to basket
Once you’ve added your Japan Rail Pass to your basket hit the "Click To Book’ button to take you to the passenger information page.
Step 4: Enter your passenger information
You will now need to enter your passenger information. This is the name of the traveller exactly as it appears in their passport, along with their date of birth and intended date of use.
- The name must match their passport, JR Ticket Office staff will only accept an exact match when you turn in your XO.
- An XO is valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of issue. We check that you intend to turn it in for a JR Pass within this time. If you are unsure of the exact date, an approximation is fine.
Step 5: Enter your billing & delivery information
On the next page enter your billing information, you can opt to use the same address for delivery. Please provide a full postcode/zipcode as we are unable to dispatch your Japan Rail Pass without one.
Step 6: Check & choose your delivery method
Almost done, now you can check your order details and choose your method of delivery. Within the UK Recorded Delivery is FREE, for international destinations prices vary. Please see here for more info.
Step 7: Pay for your order
Click on the card type with which you intend to pay and follow the secure payment steps. We use SagePay and do not store any of your card details.
What if I need a refund?
We offer a 85% refund for an unused XO up to a year from the date of issue. Please contact us at email@example.com to confirm your intention before you return it. We will also inform you of the current Returns Address.
