This morning I have pre-booked the Kodama 842 (Hello Kitty) train from Hiroshima to Shin Osaka on 2 June 2025, departing at 8:40 AM. I arrive in Tokyo on 24 May. I will exchange my prepaid voucher for JR pass at Haneda airport. At that time, will I be able to transfer my reservation to the JR pass and obtain a refund for the pre-booked ticket ? Hello Graham,
The staff will have to cancel your booking and make a new reservation for the Hello Kitty train. So it is not a direct transfer but the end result is the same. A small refund fee may apply to the ticket you already have but this depends on your booking conditions.
