Baseball in Osaka

We are coming to Japan to play Baseball in Osaka. Before the team arrives my daughter wants to see Tokyo so we are flying into Tokyo for three days aug 8-11 and then to Osaka for Aug 11 to 17 and then back to Tokyo for one day the 17th and and then fly home on Aug 18th. Question is the JRP worth it for the trip to Osaka or should we buy the tickets when we get to Japan. There are 4 of us. We will have luggage and a baseball bag to tote around, do the trains accommodate the luggage? Do you recommend shipping bags ahead of travel between the cities? Thank you.

Hi there!

Visiting a baseball match in Japan is a great experience at not to be missed. I've always felt that the atmosphere in the big stadiums are always nice and friendly, even when over 80.000 people come to watch.

A 7-day JR Pass is roughly the same price as a return Osaka Tokyo and I am sure you will be able to make some savings with it. As it also covers your train ride to and from the airport and is valid on local JR lines in both Tokyo and Osaka.

As for luggage, Shinkansen (bullet trains) all have a special rack in the train car for bigger luggage like suitcases or in your case, spots equipment. So don't worry about taking it alone. Of course you can ship things ahead if you wish to travel a little lighter.
