we are from Thailand. Our daughter is studying in Tokyo suburb and we would like to meet us in Fukuoka so that she can go to meet her former host family too. So we planned to visit Fukuoka, Nagnasaki, Beppu and Hiroshima and she suggested us to buy JR rail pass so that we can use it for travelling back from Hiroshima to Fukuoka and fly back to Bangkok. If we want to proceed from Hiroshima to Tokyo and stay there for two days before flying at Narita airport. Do you think that we can save transportation budget or not> Any suggestions? We are husband and wife and will come to Japan in March 2016. Thank you .

Hi there,

A JR Pass can be very helpful if you plan on visiting Fukuoka and other places in Kyushu. For instance a one way ticket Tokyo - Fukuoka using the Shinkansen alone is ¥ 22,130, the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110, so it is very easy to make savings over normal tickets. Especially if you return to Tokyo after, or even just by visiting Nagasaki or Hiroshima.

Thank you very much for your answer . it's very helpful. Now I have another question please.
I we want to travel only in the areas of Fukuoka, Nagnasaki, Beppu and Hiroshima . What is your advice about transportation ticket locally and between cities. We may buy a round trip ticket from Bangkok to Fukuoka or Hiroshima. Thanks a lot.
