Hi there, We would like to exchange our JR voucher for our JR Rail pass in Nikko on Saturday the 9th December then use this pass to travel to Kyoto. Is this trip possible with the JR pass and if so what would the itinerary be?

Hi there,
There is no exchange station at Nikko. Please exchange your JR Pass at one of the following stations instead.
The trip is fully covered by the JR Pass. Take the JR Nikko line to Utsunomiya, there you can get on the Shinkansen to Tokyo station. At Tokyo station change for a train bound for Kyoto. Full route will take around 5 hours, including transfer time.
