what JR pass we should get ?

Will you be traveling back to Kansai Airport by train too?

If this is the case I think a 7 day JR-Pass makes for a great option.

Here are some of the savings you can make with the pass.
Kansai Airport --> Osaka ¥ 2,400
Osaka --> Kyoto ¥ 540
Kyoto --> Hiroshima ¥ 10,790
Hiroshima --> Kagoshima ¥ 17,500

For a total of ¥ 31,230, the 7-Day ¥ 28,300 saving you ¥ 2,930.

If you go back to Kansai Aiport you can save an additional ¥ 23,270.

Thank you Daniel for your valuable information. We will buy the 7 days JR pass from JBT Australia before we depart. Is it necessary to get Green JR pass? Can you get a seat if travel off peak period with economic ticket ?

Hi again,

During your travel period you should be fine with the normal JR-Pass, only when you travel during periods like golden week should you consider buying a greenpass just to get a seat.
