Narita Express with 2yr-old

Children under 6 can occupy any available seats and do not require a reservation even in reservation only cars. Please note that if another customer requires the seat, your child would have to move to another seat or your lap. An example of where this may occur is if a customer boards the train midway through your journey and has reserved the seat your child is using.

On the Narita Express it's a good idea to wait until the train is underway before you sit your child in a free seat. From experience this train usually has lots of available seating so you should have no problem finding a suitable row.

Thank you for your helpful information. I have taken Narita Express myself many, many times, but this is my first time to do so with my grandson. I wonder if it would work well to have him sit at my seat and go find a seat for myself after the train starts as I already have 2 other seats for his parents. But the same time, if I remember correctly, the price for Narita Express was not that expensive, comparatively. Well anyway, thank you so very much for your response.

Yes - that's a good idea and would also work ( though not officially sanctioned! :) ). There should be no need to purchase a ticket for your grandson as he is exempt from charges so I recommend you try that option.
