can i use japan rail pass for my whole 8-day japan trip

hello! i need help. i am so confused! i will be very grateful if you can help me.

we are 4 adults and 1 child travelling to japan for the first time. we plan to buy a 7-day japan rail pass. please advise if this is the right decision for us and if we can use our jrpass for our whole 8-day trip in japan. this is our itinerary:

day 1 cebu to osaka flight arriving kansai international airport. transfer to hotel monterey grasmere osaka (near jr namba station).
day 2 osaka to nara day trip and back to osaka
day 3 go around osaka sightseeing -- osaka castle, umeda sky building, dotonburi, shinsaibashi
day 4 osaka to sapporo flight via jetstar (arriving new chitose airport and transfer to sapporo grand hotel near jr sapporo station)
day 5 sapporo to furano day trip and back to sapporo
day6 sapporo to otaru day trip and back to sapporo
day 7 go around sapporo sightseeing -- clock tower, odori park, beer museum, fish market
day 8 fly from sapporo to osaka then straight home to cebu

i will be grateful if you can guide me on what train to ride using the japan rail pass during our 8-day trip. can we use the jr pass to visit everything during these 8 days? please help. there are just so many names of trains i do not know which one can be used with my jr pass. thank you very very much for your help.
