I assume you mean Kyoto? In that case a 7 day JR Pass can give you good value. The 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen, now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. In other words, any additional travel is what you save.

The JR Pass is valid for the local JR Network in Tokyo and can be used to see most of Tokyo, there are however also some areas that require other transport methods, such as the Tokyo Metro.
