1.) Yes, you can and the JR Pass will help you make savings at this time. You can also ride the Hikari Shinkansen from Tokyo - Kyoto.

2.) I could not find the 5th bus station, do you have any further details on location? It may make more sense to ask your guide what the best route there is, as he/she will be local and familiar with the local routes.

The Fuji Subaru Line 5th station is where we meet our guided tour to climb up Mt Fuji.
Its address is Kitayama, Fujinomiya, Shizuoka 418-0112, Japan.
Was wondering what train station is near, and also what train from Kyoto would get us to this station.

Hi again,

I looked up the address and it looks like that Fujinomiya station is the closest. You can get there by Kyoto by using the Shinkansen to Mishima station, then the JR Minobu line to Fujinomiya station.
