Osaka to Shirakawago

Hi there,

Travel from Osaka - Shirakawa-go is quite a long trip and I almost thing it would be to much as a singly day trip. The best route is to travel from Osaka by Thunderbird express to Kanazawa (2.5h) and use an express bus from there (1.5h). This means that you will travel at least 8h on a single day!

For this route I would look at normal tickets or otherwise a JR Hokuriku pass (for travel to Shirakawago).

Hi Daniel...I will have the same itinerary...just want to ask if we want to use the JR Hokuriku, is it covered by JR Pass? Will it have the same travel time?

As for the Thunderbird , is it also a bus? How much will it cost us if we will use Thunderbird & the express bus instead?

The Thunderbird express is the train between Osaka and Kanazawa.
