JR or JR East pass

Hello.

I am travelling to Japan for the first time (holiday from Australia) and my itinerary will include;

1. Arriving Haneda International, train airport to Tokyo, Shinkansen Tokyo to Morioka
2. Shinkansen Morioka to Shin Aomori
3. Shinkansen Shin Aomori to Tokyo, train Tokyo to airport, depart Haneda International

I am not sure if I should purchase the 14 day JR pass, or the 5 day JR East pass, as I will only be on the trains 3 days out of the 10 day itinerary.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
