Are you doing the following all by rail?
25/Dec - Harajuku, Meiji Shrine
26/Dec - Iwakuni, Yanai, Yamaguchi
27/Dec - Hagi, Nagato & Shimoneseki
28/Dec - Akiyoshidai, Shimoneseki and Ube
29/Dec - back to Haneda

Then yes, a 7-day JR Pass would be a big help! I would even suggest a Green Class pass for this route as the trips are pretty long, and you are travelling during a busy period.

Lastly, read up on JR Pass price changes to order on time and you can avoid the price increase.
