A one way ticket Sappro - Tokyo alone is ¥ 24,740, this will be a good amount higher with all the stops added in. The price of the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110. So it could certainly make you help savings. The JR Pass also covers the ultra fast Hayabusa train in Japan, which is the fastest Shinkansen class in Japan.

Trains will be busier than normal during the end year festivities but this applies to any kind of transport. It would be good to reserve your trains tickets for the longer trips a 2-3 days in advance because you will be traveling with a bigger company and kids.

In case we fly from sapporo back to tokyo, will it still feasible to use jr pass?

do we need to go to the departure station to reserve tickets or can we reserve from any station?

Pls advise wheter my itinerary is ok and the route is cover by JR?
