We have almost finished our itinerary and we want to know if we are buying the right passes. This is our itinary:
Day 1 arriving Kansai Osaka airport and staying near Umeda / Namba station (4 nights)
Day 2 - 4 Osaka, local
Day 5 / 1 Osaka - Nagoya - Omachi: Osaka - Nagoya (we will buy a regular, single ticket)
Nagoya - Omachi Alpine pass 5 day (1/5)
Day 6+7 / Alpine route (2+3/5 alpine pass)
Day 8 / Omachi - Nagoya - Toyama (4/5 alpine pass)
Day 9 / Toyama Alpine route (5/5 alpine pass)
Day 10 + 11 Toyama local
Day 12 / 1 Toyama - Obama (2 nights) Start JR Pass 14 or 21 days
Day 14 / 3 Obama - Tottori (3 nights)
Day 17 / 6 Tottori - Kumamoto (5 nights) local train to Takamori and maybe a car to go to Takochitio Gorge
Day 22 / 11 Kumamoto - Huis ten Bosch (2 nights)
Day 24 / 13 Huis ten Bosch - Direction Nagoya (1 night)
Day 25 / 14 arriving in Nagoya and picking up a campervan (6 nights)
Day 31 / 20 Nagoya - Tokyo
Day 32 / 21 Tokyo - Doai - Tokyo (husband is train freak) <- this is only when buying a 21 day pass makes sense
Day 33 - 37 Tokyo local (tourist pass?)
Day 38 Tokyo - Narita airport
