A 7-day Japan Rail Pass is recommended for this trip, assuming you would complete the above travel within its validity period. Local travel in Tokyo and to Fuji is relatively low cost, so for those days normal tickets would work just fine.

The JR Pass also has the flexibility that it can bring you anywhere on the JR Network, ideal if your plans are flexible.
