The Resort Shirakami and Soya Main Line Hokkaido

4.) Yes, there is one stop at near the coast at an old rock formation. You will have about 15 minutes here to get off the train and walk around.

About the Soya Main Line Hokkaido:
1.) It depends on what train you take, you can search the route in Hyperdia to find the exact amount of minutes and other route information.

2.) Compared to what? The fastest is to take a limited express train between both cities. Like the LTD. EXP SUPER SOYA.

The Hyperdia sure helps a lot! However, on the route from Akita to Aomori, how should I search for the "Resort Shirakami" train? The ones that I found are the Shinkansen Hayabusa, Shinkansen Komachi and JR Ou Line. I dont find any "Resort Shirakami" train in any of the hour.

Dear Daniel,

I read about the trip to wakkanai on the soya main line for the scenic route. The single car DMU train will only operate from Bakkai to Minami Wakkanai. My question is: does it mean that we have to change the train at Bakkai to enjoy the scenic route? Will it be announced in english when and where to stop for the transfer?
