Tokyo-Hakone-Tokyo-Osaka

Hi there!

The JR Pass does cover the trip to Hakone (up to Odawara station) but you may have to resort to other kinds of transportation inside the Hakone Area.

However I do think that you will be better of buying separate tickets if you travel Tokyo-Hakone-Tokyo-Osaka, however if you would return from Osaka - Tokyo, then a JR Pass would pay off!

Thanks for this. I will not return to Tokyo from Osaka. Can we buy Tokyo-Odawara and Tokyo-Osaka tickets via credit card in the stations?

Hi Abby!

Yes, you can use every kind of major card at the manned station counters in JR Stations to pay for your tickets.
There's no extra fee but staff may ask for your passport before booking the tickets, this because of fraud preventions.

Great! I think buying separate tickets is more economical than getting the JR Pass for our trip :) Lastly, can we already buy those tickets (Odawara and Osaka) in the airport upon arrival in Narita?
