Rail Pass during Holiday Season

You can start to make seat reservations once you arrive in Japan, the good thing is that you don't need to be using your JR Pass already in order to do this. To make reservations before you start using your JR Pass. First exchange your JR voucher for the actual pass. You can select a first day of use when you exchange your JR Pass, at the same time you can start to make seat reservations for your the period that you are traveling.
