See link below. Does this pass cover the new EVA 500 if I travel from Kyoto to Hiroshima? If so, what are the timings for these EVA 500 trains? I know I may need to travel to Shin Osaka first.

Hi there,

The EVA 500 series is just a regular Kodama service, so any rail pass, including the JR Pass and JR Hiroshima Pass cover it.

Problem will most likely be getting tickets itself, I can imagine it being a very popular train.

If I leave Shin Osaka early before 9am, can you tell me which of the Kodama trains are EVA? Alternatively, if I try to catch these returning from Hiroshima, which are the Kodama trains leaving Hiroshima after 6pm are EVA 500?

The following services are run by the EVA 500.

Hakata Station 6:36a.m. – Shin-Osaka Station 11:14 a.m. (Kodama 730)

Shin-Osaka Station 11:32 a.m. – Hakata Station 4:07 p.m. (Kodama 741).
