Help please! We are arriving to Tokyo (Narita) on 08/27 at 1:00 pm, and planning to take the JR from the airport to Kyoto. 1. Is it possible to take the JR from the airport directly to Kyoto, or we need ta take another transportation to go first from the airport to a train station in the city? 2. Where should we activate the JR pass (thet we already got)? 3. Any site where I could get JR timetable? THANK YOU so much in advanced! We'll be 3 nights in Kyoto, and go back to Tokyo to spend another 3 nights there.

Hi there!

You should have no problem at all getting from Narita Airport to Kyoto if you land around 1 p.m. The route involves one transfer at Tokyo station, where you board the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Here is the Route in Hyperdia, the journey takes around 240 Minutes all together and is completely covered by the JR Pass. The right parameters are already set so feel free to adjust the time/date as you wish.

You can activate the JR Pass @ Narita Airport and directly book the train tickets for Kyoto. I believe this covers all your questions, let me know if I can help with anything else!
