Help a nice Canadian with his JP Rail Pass!

I'm coming to Japan at the end of March and needed some advice about the JP Rail Pass. I'm under the impression that I should purchase an Exchange Order before coming to Japan, which would then be traded in for a rain pass upon my arrival to the country, correct? This is correct, you buy the JR Pass outside of Japan, we will then send you an exchange voucher which you turn into the actual JR Pass in Japan. Later this year it will be possible to buy the JR Pass directly in Japan, at a higher price than went bought in advance.

Your itinerary looks good to me and you should have enough time to get a good impression of both Osaka and Tokyo. It will likely be cheaper to buy normal tickets for your trip than buy a JR Pass, a JR Pass is generally recommended if you make at least a return Tokyo - Osaka using the Shinkansen.
