My friend and I will be in Japan from April 5-16. We arrive in Tokyo on the evening of April 5 and will be staying there till the April 9. We will be in Kyoto from April 10-12, Osaka April 13-15 and fly out of Kansai April 16 in the morning. While staying in Osaka we will be on a day trip to Miyajima. So I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy the 14 day pass? Or we buy the 7 days then use Tokyo Metro while in Tokyo?

Hi there,
For this trip I would use a 7 day JR Pass and se it to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto, from Kyoto to Osaka and also the day trip to Hiroshima. This way you can make the best possible savings and cover most of your travels using the Japan Rail Pass.
In Tokyo it would be easy to use normal tickets or buy day tickets for the Tokyo Metro.
