Hakkoda Ropeway & Hakkoda Ski Area

Hi there!

It's been a long time when I could not find the answer to something related to travel in Japan, however I could not find the answer if the Hakodate Ski Area is close to the Ropeway. Do you have to name of the Ski Resort that you'll be staying at?

As for travel from Hirosaki - Hakodate, Here is an example itinerary by train. I do think that you should be able to find enough snow to enjoy Skiing in March but I'd still recommend contacting the winter sport resort beforehand to confirm.

We never book any hotel at the ski-resort but actually staying at Sukayu Onsen Ryokan 2 days and 1 day at Central Hotel Aomori.

We just want to know whether there is a ski-area for public/tourist to go in Hakodate, please let me know the name if there is.
Also, whether it is nearer to travel to the ski-area from Sukayu Onsen Ryokan or from Aomori Station. Appreciate if you could furnish available train/bus to travel from Sukayu to Hakodate.

Snow Japan is a great resource for a all things related to winter sport in Japan. Here is a list of snow resorts around Hokkaido and the best seems to be Hakodate Nanae snowpark, there's also Niyama Kogen.

Here is a list of snow resorts around Aomori.

I would recommend asking your accommodation for the best travel possibilities to and from Sukayu as I could not find something on-line for you.
